The Encore is Named One of the Top Projects of 200706/28/2007The Encore, Hoyt Street Properties’ latest mixed-use condominium project, has been named one of the “Top Projects” of 2007 by Commerce magazine. The Encore ranked 10th in this year’s annual building awards program, which highlighted 131 Oregon and Southwest Washington projects that broke ground in 2006. Designed by Portland-based BOORA architects, The Encore is a landmark step in the continuing evolution of Portland’s Pearl District. Uniquely defined by its prime location and iconic curve-shaped form, the building will create a sweeping gateway into the northern part of the neighborhood. The 16-story project is primarily residential but will also feature multilevel live/work units and street-level commercial space. Offering unmatched proximity to the area’s largest planned park, The Encore site is situated on NW Overton Street between 9th and 10th Avenue. A portal to the historic riverfront, its curving design will capitalize on abundant views for occupants, framing vistas of the park, Fremont Bridge, Willamette River, and Cascade Mountain peaks beyond. Featuring eco-friendly components and a distinctive urban park aesthetic, The Encore’s clean, contemporary look will complement its environment. Impressions of the adjacent park and river will be incorporated into facets of its interior and exterior design. The building will include sustainable features throughout, such as energy-efficient mechanical systems, eco-friendly glazing, and storm water retention to feed a lush garden that will replace what was once a retired gravel street. The Encore is slated for occupancy in Summer 2008. Complete details about The Encore are now available at the Hoyt Realty Group showroom, which is located in the Pearl District at 1130 NW 10th Avenue.
